Q: Patient contacted TC on-call provider regarding a patient who has lupus erythematosus (LE) on the cheeks, with no current flare, well controlled at this time with 1mg prednisone daily.
This patient has tolerated filler to the mucosal lip area in the past from an outside provider, but asks the Portrait provider if she can have filler to the cutaneous cheek.
A: Current studies show that Non-Vycross HA fillers are safe for LE patients who are not currently having a flare.
